Our client prides itself on producing both critically and commercially succesful titles for the whole family. This vacancy is to work in one of 4 of its Studios that specialise in Action RPG Games for a more mature audience and they are one of the worlds largest independent developers.

Directly reporting to: Animation Manager, Art Manager or Animation Lead.

Responsibilities:
To create in game animation content for characters (in particular, looping animations, cut scene animation) and set piece animated sequences to the highest possible quality and correct technical specifications.

All animators should have a full, demonstrable understanding of the following:

• Timing
• Weight
• Anticipation
• Pose to Pose
• Appeal/ Character
• Squash and stretch
• Staging
• Follow through
• Slow in and slow out
• Arcs
• Secondary action
• Exaggeration

You are required to have necessary skills to provide realistic animations that are based in real world physics or cartoon like animations depending on the needs of the project and/or the direction of the Animation/Art Manager or Lead Animator.

Must be able to define and recognise dynamic poses for characters in animation.

Can define a characters personality or thought processes through its animation.

Should have a basic understanding of how to skin and rig a character mesh for animation (any package).

Working knowledge of Maya, Motionbuilder or a similar 3D package.

An understanding of motion/performance capture, lip syncing and facial animation techniques and procedures including relevant applications such as Face FX or Face Robot.

Senior animators must possess very good animation judgements coupled with robust tool skills. Overall, you would be expected to take a higher level of responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of animation on their project.

This client is open to applications from all forms of media i.e. television, film, post production, educational facilities etc.
