Fox TV sure does love the animated family sitcoms. According to Variety, Fox is taking on another animated project about the woes of a dysfunctional family. This new show is based on the popular graphic novel series THE BRADLEYS by Peter Bagge, and will be written by the creator and Matthew Lawton.
“The Bradleys,” which centers on a dysfunctional suburban family (through the eyes of teen Buddy Bradley), was first published in the early 1980s. It led to follow-ups “Neat Stuff” and “Hate.”
“I was obsessed with Peter Bagge’s comics when I was a teen,” Lawton said. “I ran away to Seattle at the age of 16, and was definitely this grumpy, disaffected punk kid.”
Jonah Hill of SUPERBAD fame also has a new animated pitch that has been picked up by Fox. There is no news on a title, but it will feature the voice and pen of Hill and fellow scribes Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel of YES MAN.
