Variety reports that both CORALINE and MARY AND MAX shared the top honors at this year’s Annecy Animated Film Festival. It was interesting to see two stop motion films, but very dissimilar in style tie for Best Feature.
“These two films aren’t straight family fare, and have a very strong identity,” said Serge Bromberg, Annecy Intl. Animation Film Festival’s artistic director. “In their own way, they are auteur films.”
Other films to get recognized were BRENDAN AND THE SECRET OF KELLS, directed by Nora Twomey and Tomm Moore for the Audience Award, LOG JAM by Studio Baestarts for Best TV Production, and LOST AND FOUND by Philip Hunt and Studio Aka for Best TV Special. Here is a list of all the winners:
