Laika Gets New Chief

AWN reports that after the success of CORALINE, there has been some shifting in the exec camp.  Travis Knight will be taking the post of CEO, replacing Dale Wahl who has decided to take some time for himself since he took the post in 2005.  Also stepping up is Claire Jennings, producer of CORALINE and WALLACE AND GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT.  She will now be the President of Entertainment, and be in charge of development, production, and marketing of all new films.

“Dale Wahl steps down as CEO at his request,” Phil Knight said. “After four years and at age 65 he felt, in his words, it was time to smell one rose. Dale moves into the position of Vice-Chairman to help Travis and Claire transition into their new positions until his retirement from LAIKA at the end of this October.”

Upcoming projects for Laika include, HERE BE MONSTERS, PARANORMAN, and THE WALL AND THE WING.
