According to AWN, filmmaker George Miller has been granted a tax break by the New South Wales Australian government to produce Happy Feet 2 in Australia.
At least 430 jobs over the next three years will be created. Miller had threatened last month to take the production of HAPPY FEET 2 and other upcoming films out of Australia after being denied the new 40 percent producer rebate for JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL.
The assistance package and the new facility has already attracted several big budget films, Miller said. “It helps us in our attempts to attract substantial foreign investment which will create hundreds of high-end, highly skilled jobs,” he said.
Work will commence in January at a brand new digital facility called Dr. D in Sydney.
