According to Variety, another network is looking to pick up Fox’s recent castoff “King of the Hill”.
The suitor is believed to be ABC, as “King of the Hill” would make a strong companion to the net’s upcoming animated comedy “The Goode Family,” which comes from “King of the Hill” exec producers Mike Judge, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky.
It’s often been found that animated sitcoms do better when situated with other animated sitcoms. Fox dropped “King” three days before it posted one of its best ratings for the year. However, execs at Fox doubt their mind will be changed since they’re looking for new projects for their slate right now.
Other potential homes for the toon include Comedy Central, FX and Cartoon Network. But the show, which would be entering its 14th season, is believed to be too expensive for a cabler at this point in its run.
For the record, “King of the Hill” has already had a longer run than most, with 260 episodes in 13 seasons.
