The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Super 78 has teamed with producer Charlotte Huggins to make the story they’ve been developing for two years, “Flight of the Dragon.” It will be a live-action movie, filmed in 4K- the resolution needed for screens like IMAX. Brent Young, Principal of Super 78 is the film’s writer and director. He describes the story as
a hybrid documentary and fantasy that tells the story of a young boy’s desire to discover China from the sky while flying with a mystical dragon over exotic and mysterious landscapes.
Dina Benadon, Super 78 principal and executive producer, has been developing the property for two years. The film will be a co-production with two China-based partners: an undisclosed production company and a financier.
“Dragon” will be shot entirely in mainland China showcasing a variety of aerial perspectives of the country, using a Red One digital camera.
