The Associated Press has released AFI’s newest top 10 lists- and this time it’s all about genres of movie-making. In the “Animation” genre, AFI claims the top 10 films are:
1. “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” 1937.
2. “Pinocchio,” 1940.
3. “Bambi,” 1942.
4. “The Lion King,” 1994.
5. “Fantasia,” 1940.
6. “Toy Story,” 1995.
7. “Beauty and the Beast,” 1991.
8. “Shrek,” 2001.
9. “Cinderella,” 1950.
10. “Finding Nemo,” 2003.
Big movies with lots of visual effects were a high priority in the Science Fiction category with “Star Wars: Episode IV”, “E.T.”, “Alien”, “Back to the Future” and “Terminator 2″ rounding out the list. In “Fantasy”, “The Wizard of Oz” is still tops, but “Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings” gave the classic a run for its money.
