Animation Magazine reports that 20th Century Fox’s Horton Hears a Who! is still number one in the U.S. after a healthy-intake at the box office over the Easter weekend. The total two week gross domestically is roughly $86.4 million. Horton narrowly beat out the opening of Tyler Perry’s new film Meet the Browns which estimates say earned roughly $20 million.
Rounding out the Top 5 at the box office over the weekend was the new horror film Shutter, Drillbit Taylor, and Warner Bros. special effect-laden 10,000 B.C. Animation Magazine reports,
Director Roland Emmerich’s latest exercise in spectacle filmmaking raked in another $8.6 million to bring its domestic cume to roughly $76 million. And though it’s slipping down the chart in North America, it’s the reigning champ overseas. Foreign play dates have kicked in approximately $74 million to date, making the film a bona fide International hit with a worldwide gross surpassing $150 million.
